Writing A Nonfiction Essay Topic
Writing A Nonfiction Essay TopicAlthough the majority of college students are familiar with writing an essay on a topic, most do not write nonfiction essays. Most likely, they are familiar with writing and reading stories and reports. In fact, many writers either choose to be or became nonfiction writers.Writing a nonfiction essay is a different animal than writing a novel or even a short story. While both of these forms of writing require significant research and some creativity, they tend to be more formulaic. In other words, most writing uses what is known as a 'story' structure. There are many ways to structure a story but the two most common are:The first type is a story in which the main character or narrator spends a large portion of the book, novel, or report finding or discovering the main problem and doing so in an informational-rich plot. They must work their way through various situations. To do this, they use evidence and analysis to formulate a response to the problem a t hand. The second type of story is very similar to the first and involves the main characters working towards a goal but not necessarily solving the problem at hand. They try to achieve the goal, but they may fail. The final outcome depends on the quality of the characters and the strength of the plot. Both types of stories are interesting and require a good deal of research, which are different components from writing a nonfiction essay. Yet there are many similarities between the two.One of the most important parts of an effective nonfiction essay is the length of the article. If a person were to add up all of the required facts and figures from the research for the article, it would only take a small amount of time to fill the allotted space. However, that does not mean that someone could write an essay on any topic without spending any time on research. This would only cause the article to run out of steam when a person was forced to write it in a short amount of time.Nonfiction e ssay topics may be on a specific subject or perhaps on a broader topic. A person may choose to focus on a specific topic in a series of articles. As long as the reader can follow the introduction and the main body of the essay, it is all worthwhile.
